I guess that you would like to know more about me, so here it goes. My name is Heather and I’m a stay at home mom to two lively boys who I homeschool, a wife to a very supportive husband, and a mom to two fur babies, one reptile, and thousands of bees. I’m a complete introvert and my absolute favorite activity is to read. If I’m not reading or homeschooling my boys you will find me on my computer (I have a bit of a problem and probably spend too much time there), drinking tea, journaling, knitting, sleeping, and dreaming about having a good sense for design, fashion, and woodworking. I actually think that I need more hours in my day to do all that I love.
I grew-up in Northern California in the Sierra Nevada mountains, my peaceful place, then lived in Los Angeles for a little over ten years. Two years ago my husband and I decided to make a big life change and move up to Oregon where we currently reside.
I homeschooled my oldest for K-2 using Waldorf-inspired methods, but for the 2015-16 school year I decided to explore different options as the Waldorf way of schooling/life wasn’t working as great as I had hoped it would for us. I would like to think of us as eclectic homeschoolers grabbing stuff here and there. Since we are newish to this homeschool journey we are still trying to figure out what does and does not work for my boys, but I have a feeling that we will be doing that the whole time!
This blog won’t just be about homeschooling, but it will be about my life outside of schooling, although life seems to be about learning all of the time.
Lastly, I am a HUGE fan of Pearl Jam. They are the best and my best friends would agree.
